On Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24, Franklin Pierce Law Center's Kenneth J. Germeshausen Center for the Law of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is hosting its 12thComprehensive PCT Seminar in cooperation with the WTO.  PCT ("Patent Cooperation Treaty") is a global protection treaty administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) aimed at simplifying and reducing the cost of preserving patent rights internationally.  Once a primary patent application had been filed in the inventor's home country, a subsequent PCT application filing creates a placeholder, reserving the patent rights in all 184 WIPO (as of 9/2008) countries.  As international markets embraces globalization, PCT applications have becomes a vital tool in cost effectively protecting intellectual property rights worldwide.

The Seminar will be at the Courtyard Marriott in Concord and spans for 1 ½ days, covering topics on to how to file and prosecute international applications, search international prior art, and review statutory requirements, including practical topics on the PCT process among numerous others.  For a full list of topics and registration information, seehttp://www.piercelaw.edu/pct/index.php.

The program is conducted by Carol Bidwell and David Reed, US consultants to WIPO on PCT matters, and is hosted by Franklin Pierce Law Center's J.
